How does it work?
A solar thermal hot water system heats water for domestic use by harnessing the infrared energy present in daylight via solar panels, usually placed on the roof of your property.
During the winter months there is not enough energy available to fully heat the water so the existing heat source (boiler or immersion heater) automatically tops up the stored water temperature.
A properly sized solar thermal system can provide almost all of the hot water in the summer months and a useful contribution throughout the rest of the year.
Over the course of a year, a solar thermal system typically provides between half and two thirds of the energy required to heat the hot water. A solar thermal hot water system is the most cost effective renewable energy technology and can be installed in the majority of domestic dwellings in Ireland.
Is it suitable for my home?
Our experienced surveyors will assess your property and once the project goes ahead they will be on site to ensure that your solar panels are positioned in the best possible location on your property ensuring maximum efficiency from your system. They will base this decision on a number of factors including area of south facing roof, the existing water heating system and your budget.
